Goats and dogs typically get along if both animals are naturally friendly and accepting. Sometimes, there will be situations where your goats and dogs will not get along no matter what. Goats are herd animals and they prefer to be with other goats. Goats can usually form friendships with dogs, but they will not necessarily become best buddies!

While sheep and goats seem similar and can be mated, they belong to different genera in the subfamily Caprinae of the family Bovidae. Sheep belong to the genus Ovis and have 54 chromosomes, while goats belong to the genus Capra and have 60 chromosomes. The offspring of a sheep-goat pairing is generally stillborn.

It is the natural tendency, though rare, of the sheep and goat to mate with each other. In a herd in which there are both the sheep and goat live together, there are more chances that the sheep and goat mate. You can increase the chances of mating by keeping the male and female partners alone.
